Frequently asked questions

Is the Mastiva Open Test really free?

Yes. Registration, the attempt, your provisional score, the final rank card, the answer key and the solutions are all free. You only need a Mastiva account (email + password).

When can I take it?

Each event has a window of a few days. You can start any time inside the window, but no later than the paper's duration before it closes, so your attempt ends inside the window. One attempt per student.

Is it the same paper for everyone?

Yes, within a class board. Class 11 students sit a Class-11-syllabus paper; Class 12 students and droppers sit the full-syllabus paper. Everyone on a board sees the same questions in the same order.

How are rank and percentile calculated?

When the window closes every graded attempt is ranked by score (ties share a rank). Percentile follows the NTA definition: 100 x (number of candidates with a score less than or equal to yours) / total candidates on your board.

What is the state-wise rank?

Your rank among the students from your own state on the same board, computed the same way. No other free test series publishes it.

When do I see my marks?

Your provisional score and subject-wise marks appear the moment you submit. Rank, percentile, state rank, the answer key and the solutions appear automatically when the window closes.

What if I start and cannot finish?

Your answers are saved as you go. Whatever is answered when your time or the window ends is graded and ranked.
